Scientometric research of materials of Pittsburg conference on analytical chemistry and applied spectroscopy (PITTCON 2012) In the beginning of March, 2012, city of Orlando (USA) hosts the annual Pittsburg conference and an exhibition on analytical chemistry and applied spectroscopy (PITTCON 2012). It is the most representative conference in the world both on number of reports, and on number of participants. Specialists have participated in this conference from all countries of the world. In conference programs all modern methods of the analysis are presented, therefore scientometric data on PITTCON allow to evaluate a modern state of analytical chemistry in the world. Simultaneously with conference there is an exhibition of the newest analytical and exploratory devices.

Definition of Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons by the Method of Gas Chromatography - Mass-Spectrometry with Isotope Dilution (GC/MS/IR) The existing measurement procedures for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) have being used in analytical laboratories in Russia are summarized. Examples of application of GC/MS/ID technique for determination of PAHs in solutions and complex matrixes (soils, sediments, industrial products and waste) are provided. The possibility of the improved performance by GC/MS/ID technique which enables to increase reliability of identification and to diminish uncertainty of measurements is shown. The measurement procedures on the base of GC/MS/ID technique which can be considered as arbitrary method with respect to the other existing analytical methods are developed. It is proposed to consider GC/MS/ID method as a method of highest accuracy with respect to other existing analytical methods of PAH concentration measurements.

Quantitative determination of acadesine in cultural broths using chromatographic techniques. To determine acadesine concentration in cultural liquids was developed quantitative thin layer chromatography (TLC) technique and analyzed by densitometry. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was applied as a reference method.
