Russian Instrument Makers Need State Program JSC "Nauchpribor" – without exaggeration, one of the pillars of the domestic Analytical Instrumentation. From 1970–1980's then – Orel plant scientific instruments prodused commercially available x-ray spectrometry equipment, mass spectrometers, liquid chromatographs. Today, the company "Nauchpribor" - one of the very few domestic companies producing modern analytical equipment, including devices for high-performance liquid chromatography. Our conversation with the head of the marketing department of JSC "Nauchpribor" Yuri Hvostishkov was about the company's products, the problems of domestic instrument companies.

AGING TRANSFORMERS: CONTROL METHODS Transformers - the most important elements of energy and under the right conditions can operate up to 30 years or more. Design of transformers involves the use of dissimilar materials for electrodes – electrical steel, to isolate them – paper, pressed cardboard, wood, and for cooling – transformer oil. Heavy loads, power surges, overheating in emergency mode, or violation of the cooling lead to accelerated aging of organic materials that make up the transformer, which leads to a reduction in their lifetime. To control the aging transformer oil developed special methods of monitoring, based on measurements of surface tension and viscosity. New material is also advisable to undergo a similar algorithm testing.

Determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in soil by GC-MS A new approach to the analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soil samples by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was developed. Technique is tested on real samples taken at various points in the city of Tomsk. The usefulness of this method for qualitative and quantitative identification of PAHs in the environment was demonstrated. The results obtained allow us to estimate the level of soil pollution.

Import means the best? Paradoxes of Russian market
Foreign manufacturers of analytical equipment is considered one of the Russian market is the largest and most advanced in Europe, highlighting it in one of the priorities of the business. At the same time, Russian companies complain about the lack of demand for their products, though, that many claim that their analytical instruments are not inferior in accuracy and reliability of the imported analogues, prices are much lower, and after-sales service is cheaper and easier.
There is a paradox: the Russian market is not designed for the Russian manufacturer? What is the cause of this situation? And is there a way to change the balance of power in the domestic market of analytical equipment for the benefit of Russian companies?
