SHIMADZU UNIVERSAL TESTING MACHINE We continue our story about universal testing machines, which are manufactured by the Shimadzu company. We examined the range of universal testing machines for static testing in the previous article. These are one column EZTest, tabletop and floor type AG-X and AGS-X series machines and hydraulic machines UH-X series. We discussed their capabilities, applications, accessories and software. The second part is dedicated to another kind of equipment for mechanical tests – fatigue and endurance testing machines (servopulsers), high-speed testing machines and microhardness testers, which are also produced by Shimadzu.

The ubiquity of honey creates interest in its composition. So whether it is valuable, as is commonly believed? How does its composition depending on the region of production? Are there unsafe components in honey? The authors conducted a comparative research of the honey samples of different varieties and habitates of carbohydrate and mineral composition, the acidity and the content of water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins and antibiotics.

Grain-size compositions and representative samples of certified reference materials of coal ash The current status of the material of the national certified reference materials (CRMs) of coal ash ZUK-1, ZUK-2 and ZUA-1 has been investigated to justify their application for environment protection. The new available data on grain-size compositions and representative samples ensure the relevance of applying the CRMs of coal ash for calibration and certification of techniques, control of accuracy and precision of the modern instrumental analytical results.
