Design of antibacterial and antituberculosis agents: general Ser/Thr pharmacophore approach application Based on suggested earlier general Ser/Thr pharmacophore approach two series of compounds were designed and synthesized as possible inhibitors of bacterial serine/threonine kinases. These compounds showed promising activity in cell based assays against virulent H37Rv (MIC 1–10 µM) and S.Aureus (MIC 4–16 µg/ml).

Cryo-electron microscopy is a revolutionary method for determining the structure of biological molecules The principles and advances of cryo-electron microscopy are described; the method is the most powerful tool that allows visualizing of biological objects during their functioning, which is invaluable both for a basic understanding of life chemistry and for a wide range of applied problems. For the development of the cryo-electron microscopy Jacques Dubochet (Switzerland), Joachim Frank (USA) and Richard Henderson (United Kingdom) were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2017.

Rapid screening of medicines without using standard samples: renaissance of low-field NMR spectrometers The use of modern low-field 1H NMR spectrometers at a working frequency of 60 MHz is proposed to control the authenticity of medicines. For validation and verification of the developed methods of non-standard screening, the use of a low-field and high-field (more than 300 MHz for 1H) tandem is recommended.

Effect of soils on the corrosion of steel pipes. Modeling stress-corrosion processes To prevent emergencies on pipelines operated 15–20 years or more, it is important to assess their condition in time and in a qualified manner. The results of experimental studies of the characteristics of the pipe steels of main oil pipelines in model aggressive environments are presented, graphical dependencies are constructed, and corrosion-mechanical processes are analyzed.
