Spectrophotometry is an analysis method that is widely used in chemistry, biology, medicine and many other fields of science and technology. One of the key elements of a spectrophotometer is a light source. Today, two types of radiation sources are most often used: xenon lamps and halogen lamps paired with deuterium lamps. The article provides a comparative analysis of these types of lamps in order to identify the advantages and disadvantages of their use in spectrophotometry.
