In June 2020, the ISO Committee on Conformity Assessment (CASCO), in cooperation with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), completed the updating of the international standard ISO / IEC 17000: 2020 Conformity Assessment. Vocabulary and general principles. The published standard contains terms and definitions in the field of conformity assessment, including the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies. The article contains new terms, their interpretation, examples of application. The concept of the concept of a conformity assessment system, which has undergone changes within the framework of the functional approach, is explained.
